On Einstein, Studying, and EQ2

In 1905, Albert Einstein introduced his now-famous theory of Mass-Energy Equivalence. The main formula used was E=M(C*C), or as phrased normally, E equals MC squared. In the formula, E represents Energy, M relates to mass, and C represents the speed of light. Continue reading ‘On Einstein, Studying, and EQ2’

During the time since my last post, which seems ages ago, but has only been 6 days, I have been invited to raid several times, the first time since I got my Mythical. We were doing pretty good, and managed to get most of the way toward Trak access. Continue reading ‘Raid?!?!?!?’

Circumstantial Happenstance or Happenstantial Circumstance, whatevs

A lot has happened in the last four days. Unfortunately, most of it has not been in EQ2. Went to the doctor, and he recommended another 30 days off. (Yay!) Continue reading ‘Circumstantial Happenstance or Happenstantial Circumstance, whatevs’

Back to (the) back

Well, today they removed the staples from my incision. They also were stumped, when I asked why my feet and ankles were swelling so bad. They offered several possibilities, among those being medication interaction problems or venous blood clots, but said that none of them could be ruled out at this point. Therefore I get to go on Saturday for X-rays to ensure that I don’t have any venous clotting in my legs, which, if clots were present in my legs, and if said clots were to break loose, could conceivably cause any number of adverse problems, up to, and including the big D (not Divorce, but Death).

Needless to say, this worries me a slight bit.

However, if I don’t post for a few days, don’t assume that I have kicked the bucket, punched my last timecard, met the maker, hit snake-eyes in the game of life, run out of 1UPs, went the way of disco, encountered an unrecoverable fatal error, went to the blue screen in the sky, or any number of other euphemisms for dying. I may just be spending time with my feet elevated and can’t be troubled to hobble over to the computer.

I will try to keep posting regularly to avoid people assuming that my possessions are now available for redistribution.

Until my next update,

Pavlov’s Broker

Its been a while since I posted, and for that, I truly apologize. My sleep schedule is sort of wonky, and I have been having pain problems stemming from the back surgery I had in February. I have spent some of my time playing EQ2, but have ended up spending a lot of time awake, in bed, with my feet elevated, trying to reduce the swelling. During one of those elevation sessions, an idea occured to me.

Some, maybe all, maybe none, of you are familiar with the term Pavlovian Response. For those that have potentially never heard of a Pavlovian Response, here is a brief scientific history lesson. Continue reading ‘Pavlov’s Broker’

The agony of da feet.

I’d love to say that I spent most of the day leveling my alt. And I did, in fact, spend most of the time I was in-game leveling my alt inquisitor, Shaineez. Unfortunately, I didn’t play for more than 3-4 hours all day.

I spent most of my time today asleep, with my feet elevated, trying to reduce the swelling. Right now, my feet look like the model used to design Shrek’s feet. It is hard to move them around and they hurt….a lot.

I will still post on here, but don’t expect any long posts until I start feeling better.

The Surge(ry)

Well I’m having back surgery in about 6 hours. I will be out of commission for a little while, possibly up to a week. See you when (and if) I get back.

Update: I’m back and not paralyzed, so I’ll get back into the swing of things shortly. I’ll post as often as the pain and pain medication allows. Due to the fact that one of the medicines I have to take is Vicodin, I’m not going to promise any high quality posts until either the pain tapers off or the medication runs out.

And in answer to your next question, I will quote Dr. Gregory House, “[Y]ou may see me reach for this: this is Vicodin. It’s mine! You can’t have any.”
